Grant Imahara (2007)

Grant Masaru Imahara (born October 23, 1970 in Los Angeles ; † July 13, 2020 there ) was an American engineer , television presenter , special effects artist and model maker . He became known to a wide audience through the television series MythBusters .

Life

Imahara received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California . From 1996 to 2005 he worked for Industrial Light and Magic and was a. a. Involved in Star Wars: Episode I to Episode III as a model builder. He took part in the US show BattleBots with his self-made robot Deadblow , where he reached the finals. Between 2005 and 2014 he was one of the main characters in the MythBusters series .

Imahara died of a cerebral aneurysm on July 13, 2020 at the age of 49 .
