action

Following the events of the previous film, Fin and April are getting married for the second time and are expecting another child. While Fin in Washington receives a state award from the President of the United States for his exploits in Los Angeles and New York, another Sharknado storm develops, which destroys the capital. Fin and the president fight against the storm, which eventually weakens unexpectedly and does no further damage. Fin's wife April, her mother May, and her daughter Claudia are meanwhile in the Universal Studios amusement park in Orlando . Afraid that his family is in danger, Fin sets off for Florida. On the way there, Fin encounters another Sharknado storm. From this he is rescued by Nova and her partner Lucas (Nova has been in Sharknado since her near-death experience , in which she was rescued by Fin, in search of further Sharknado storms, which she tries to fight with Lucas). Fin decides to continue his journey with Nova and Lucas, but after some time they are held up by another storm and seek refuge in a military base . Nova and Fin receive a military jet with the intention of destroying the Sharknado storm. But before the two of them can take off, their companion Lucas is killed by a shark falling on him. Meanwhile, another Sharknado storm is developing in Daytona , interrupting the Daytona 500 racing event, killing numerous spectators and destroying racing cars. Nova and Fin drop a bomb on their plane on the circuit to prevent further destruction. However, their action has no effect and the Sharknado storm moves on. Fin realizes that the amalgamation of the numerous Sharknado storms results in a huge "Sharkicane" and that this would destroy the entire east coast . In order to take countermeasures, he tries to win his father Gil, who is a former NASA colonel, for his risky plan to fight the Sharknado storms from space.

Gil, Fin, April and Nova reach NASA Headquarters in Washington and learn from engineer Harleen Quinn the only way to stop the storms. With the help of a top secret space shuttle , tanks with rocket fuel are to be dropped from orbit over the Sharknado storms in order to destroy them and render them harmless to the earth. The dropped tanks explode but do not stop the storms. Desperate, Gil shares his secret plan B with the rest of the crew. He is considering destroying the storms with the aid of a Strategic Defense Initiative laser satellite . Gil leaves the space shuttle and sacrifices himself to install the satellite and remains in space. The laser beam from the satellite, which destroys the Sharknado storms in a targeted manner, drives the sharks remaining in the storms into space, which attack the space shuttle. While Fin tries to kill the sharks with the help of a laser sword- style chainsaw , which he had previously received from Nova, both he and his pregnant wife April are eaten by the sharks. The sharks that ate Fin and April fall down to earth. Although the sharks are charred when they entered the earth's atmosphere , April and Fin can free themselves from them unscathed. While April was in the shark's stomach, she gave birth to her child. Fin decides to name his newborn child Gil in memory of his father, who was left behind in space and who was last seen on the moon according to his lifelong dream. Apparently April is killed by part of the destroyed space shuttle, which immediately afterwards falls from heaven to earth.
