Kathie Lee Gifford
Kathie Lee Gifford , actually Kathryn Lee Epstein (born August 16, 1953 in Paris , France ) is an American television presenter, singer and author. She hosted the morning show Live with Regis and Kathie Lee alongside Regis Philbin between 1988 and 2000 and was one of the presenters on NBC's Today program from 2008 to 2019 .
Life
Kathie Lee Gifford was born Kathryn Lee Epstein in Paris in 1953. Her father was an American soldier stationed there. Gifford grew up in Maryland and attended until 1971, the High School in Bowie . She then studied at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa , Oklahoma . She married Paul Johnson and got a job singing on the television show Name That Tune . In 1983 she separated from Johnson. From 1985 she worked with Regis Philbin on regional morning television; In 1986 she married Frank Gifford . Two years later, her show with Philbin was syndicated as Live with Regis and Kathie Lee .
From February 1995, a Kathie Lee Gifford clothing line was sold in stores of the Walmart chain , for which Gifford was estimated to make 5 to 11 million dollars and which was due to the poor pay of the workers involved in the production in Honduras and the poor working conditions in the criticism got.
In 2000, Gifford left the Live with Regis and Kathie Lee show , soon after she was replaced by Kelly Ripa . At the time of their retirement, the show was the fourth most successful syndicated talk show, after those of Oprah Winfrey , Jerry Springer, and Rosie O'Donnell . From 2008 Gifford was seen alongside Hoda Kotb on the NBC program Today . Her last broadcast was on April 5, 2019.
