history

The band was founded in January 1987 by siblings Juan Partida Bravo (electric guitar), Lorenzo Partida Bravo (electric bass) and Javier Partida Bravo (drums) under the name Temple de Acero. In 1988 the debut album Muerto en la Cruz was released , on which guitarist and singer Alberto Pimentel could be heard. The album was produced by Eric Meyer (Dark Angel). In 1990 the second album Sepelio en el Mar followed, before Pimentel left the band and founded the band Leprosy (then still under the name Leprosy). Alejandro González joined the band as a new singer, whereupon Juan Carlos Camarena joined the band as guitarist and singer. In 1991 a tour of Mexico followed with Sacred Reich, Napalm Death and Sepultura. In May 1992 the band performed at the Mexican Mosh Festival together with Sick of It All , Deicide and Nuclear Assault. In the same year González and Camarena left the band again, so that Pimentel returned as a singer. A tour of Mexico followed in October with Mortuary and Inquisidor . In March 1993 the group performed again at the Mexican Mosh Festival, where groups such as Monstrosity, Kreator and Overkill also played. In June 1994 the band performed in Spain on the Monstruos de Rock together with Rata Blanca and Angeles del Infierno . Pimentel also resigned to go back to leprosy. Arturo Huizar joined the band as a new singer, before singer Mauricio Torres and guitarist Ernesto Torres joined the band in February 1998. After the album Tristeza de Lucifer had been released, a tour of South America followed. In the following years, the post of singer and guitarist changed several times and the band released other albums.

style

The band is one of the most important representatives of the Mexican Thrash Metal scene, whereby the vocals of the English-language songs are mainly characterized by the strong accent.
