The young Pat visits the clan of traveling Irish (in the original Irish travelers ) to attend the funeral of his father. Because of his parentage, he would like to join the clan. After the first rejection, he is accepted by Bokky and instructed in the "business". These are mainly based on the exploitation of unsuspecting people with tricks and trickery. Meanwhile, Bokky falls in love with a woman and wishes for a different path in life.
