The Tribseer Street (also: Tribseerstraße ) in the urban area Old Town in Stralsund connects the new market with the intersection, Mount St. Catherine , Marie Street , Tribseer Damm , Knieperwall and Frankenwall . Henning-Mörder-Strasse and Kiebenhieberstrasse branch off from Tribseer Strasse . It belongs to the core area of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Historic Old Towns Stralsund and Wismar .

The street was first mentioned in a document in 1306. The name came from the councilors of the von Tribsees family ; around 1270 a councilor Conrad von Tribsees is mentioned in a document. A connection to the city of Tribsees only exists through the family, who probably came from there. The lower part of the street was named Platz der Solidarität during the GDR era ; since December 3, 1990, this part has also been called Tribseer Strasse again.

Of the houses along Tribseer Strasse, 20 are listed (see also the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund ), namely the houses Tribseer Strasse 1 , Tribseer Strasse 6 , Tribseer Strasse 7 , Tribseer Strasse 8 , Tribseer Strasse 11 , Tribseer Strasse 12 , Tribseer Strasse 13 , Tribseer Strasse 14 , Tribseer Strasse 19 , Tribseer Strasse 20 , Tribseer Strasse 20/1 , Tribseer Strasse 23 , Tribseer Strasse 24 , Tribseer Strasse 24 a , Tribseer Strasse 25 , Tribseer Strasse 26 , Tribseer Strasse 27 , Tribseer Strasse 28 , Tribseer Straße 29 and Tribseer Straße 30 .

Located just off the Tribseer Street was within the Stralsund city wall of Köpkenturm . On December 12, 1770, the 250 quintals of gunpowder stored in it exploded ; Almost all buildings in the vicinity were destroyed in the explosion, including St. Mary's Church .

At the intersection with the Frankenwall and Knieperwall stood the Tribseer Tor , which was first mentioned in 1278; the remains of the gate were demolished in 1877.
