The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) is the national football association of the Caribbean island state of Trinidad and Tobago .

history

The association was founded in 1908 and joined the continental association CONCACAF in 1962 and the world association FIFA two years later .

In 1992 the association was renamed the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF). In 2006, the TTFF hit the headlines as part of a dispute over bonus payments to players after the 2006 World Cup . In advance, it was agreed between the TTFF and the players of the Trinidadian national team that the latter should share 50% of the TTFF's profits from the World Cup. After the World Cup, the TTFF declared a profit of around 300,000 TTD after deducting expenses. After protests from the players, the TTFF declared that it had made a profit of 950,000 TTD. 16 players also questioned this information. The players were no longer used for international matches, and a legal battle broke out in June 2007. Documents released in August 2007 indicated that the TTFF had earned at least 200,000,000 TTD from the World Cup. The Trinidad Supreme Court sentenced the TTFF in February 2011 to an upfront payment of around USD 1,100,000. The association was unable to meet the request for payment due to lack of assets; In 2013 it turned out that part of the World Cup revenues had been diverted to private accounts by then TTFF advisor Austin "Jack" Warner . In 2013 the association renamed itself again to the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA).
