The Federación Nacional de Fútbol de Guatemala , or FENAFUTG for short , is the Guatemalan football association .

The association organizes the Guatemalan football championship, which is played in the Liga Nacional de Guatemala , and the Copa Centenario . In addition, the matches of the national soccer team of Guatemala are organized by the association.

history

The association was founded in 1919 when the Guatemalan football championship was held for the first time. The national team's first international match took place on September 14, 1921 in Guatemala City against the selection of Honduras . The association joined FIFA in 1946, and has also been a member of the Continental Association since CONCACAF was founded in 1961.
