features

The cashmere globe flower is a perennial herbaceous plant . At flowering time it has a stature height of 6 to 25 centimeters, at fruit time up to 40 centimeters. The plant forms a rhizome . The flowers open before the basal leaves develop. There are one to three stem leaves. The flowers are 3.5 to 5 centimeters in diameter. The usually eight, rarely five to nine bracts are yellow and spreading. Nectar leaves are present twelve to sixteen.

The flowering period extends from May to June.

Occurrence

The Kashmir globe flower occurs in northern Pakistan , Kashmir and Nepal on alpine meadows and in snow valleys at altitudes above 3000 meters.
