The Trust Merchant Bank SA or TMB is an independent banking company in the Democratic Republic of Congo , whose headquarters in Lubumbashi in the Congolese province of Katanga is. The Trust Merchant Bank SA is a limited company by Congolese law.

history

The bank was founded by the former money changer Robert Levy from a long-established Katanga family who came from Italy and began operations in 2004. Levy is still today (2012) the largest shareholder in the bank. Since 2010, TMB has been commissioned to pay the monthly salaries of the employees of the Mission de l'Organisation des Nations Unies en République Démocratique du Congo ( MONUSCO ) throughout the Congo.

Business lines

The TMB is both a commercial bank and a collection point for savings and it is successful in the field of microcredit . It is one of the largest banks in the Congo, both in terms of equity and turnover. TMB is regulated by the Banque Centrale du Congo and is a member of the Association des Banques . It is a member of the SWIFT Association (TRMSCD3L) and is a business partner of Western Union and VISA . TMB also sells Mastercard products and services . It operates ATMs in Kinshasa that dispense both Congo francs and dollars .

Branch network

Its branch network extends over 11 provinces in the country with branches in Bandundu ; in Bukavu in Sud-Kivu Province ; Fungurume and Kolwezi in Lualaba Province ; in Goma ( North Kivu Province ) with several branches; in Kalemie on Lake Tanganyika ; in Kilwa , Likasi and Lubumbashi (several branches) in Haut-Katanga , in Kindu with the only bank branch in the province of Maniema ; in Kinshasa (several branches); Kisangani ( Tshopo Province ) ; in Muanda near the mouth of the Congo into the Atlantic and in Matadi , both in the province of Congo Central ; and in Mbandaka , capital of the Equateur province .

TMB has a representative office in Brussels , Belgium . The CEO of the bank is the German citizen Oliver Meisenberg.
