history
The minesweeper with the serial number C-928 was built at the Nevsky Shipyard (Середньоневський СБЗ) in Leningrad for the Soviet Navy . The takeover of the ship with the name Zenitchyk in the Black Sea Fleet took place on September 10, 1974. While belonging to the Soviet and later Russian Navy , the ship took part in missions in the Persian Gulf , the Red Sea , the Mediterranean , the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean .
After the division of the Black Sea Fleet and the takeover of the ship by the naval forces of Ukraine, the ship was in memory of the Battle of Shovti Vody that took place near the city of Shovti Vody , in Shovti Vody (U310) and on June 18, 2004 finally in Chernigov ( U310) renamed.
In the course of the Crimean crisis , the ship became Russian on March 24, 2014. The ship's commanding officer, Captain 3rd rank Boris Palij, swore oath of the Russian naval fleet , whereupon an investigation was initiated against him for desertion in Ukraine .
