The Chernovaya ( Kazakh and Russian Черновая ) is a right tributary of the Buchtarma in the Altai in eastern Kazakhstan .
The Tschernowaja rises in the south of the Qysylqaraghai -Gebirgszugs (russ. Listwjaga ) far from the Russian border. In the upper reaches it flows through a mountain lake about 3 km long at 1964 m . The river flows mainly in a south-westerly direction, then turns south to flow again in a south-westerly direction in the lower reaches. 7 km above its mouth in the Buchtarma flows through the Tschernowaja the settlement Aqqainar (Аққайнар, to 2009 Черновое Tschernowoje ). There is a runoff level there. The mean measured discharge is 5.86 m³ / s. The Chernovaya is mainly fed by the snowmelt . The highest runoffs were recorded in the months of May with 20.92 m³ / s and June with 17.76 m³ / s. The river mouth is at an altitude of 862 m .
