Tschorna Tyssa ( Ukrainian Чорна Тиса ; Russian Черная Тиса Tschernaja Tissa , Slovak Černá Tisa, Čorna Tisa or Mohelki , Hungarian Feketetisza or Moheljki ) is a village in the east of the Ukrainian Oblast Zakarpattia with about 2,700 inhabitants.

Tschorna Tyssa is located in the Forest Carpathians at 805 m altitude near the source of the Black Tisza (Ukrainian: Чорна Тиса / Tschorna Tyssa) , a source river of the Tisza , which gives the village its name. The village has an area of 16.178 km² and is the only place of the district council of the same name in the north of the Rajon Rakhiv .
Eight kilometers south of the village runs the national trunk road N 09 , which leads south to the Rajon center of Rakhiv, 40 km away, and to the north-east to the Jablunyzkyj pass .
history
In the local area there was the well-known since 1800 village Mohelki , a municipality part of Yasinia , in which during the Second World War , the forced labor camp for Jews Yasinya-Mohelki was. In 1947 the village was re-established under its current name.
