Turbo B
Turbo B (born April 30, 1967 in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania ; real name Durron Maurice Butler ) is an American rapper and former member of SNAP! .
Life
Butler played drums in his youth . He joined the United States Army and was stationed in Friedberg (Hessen) in 1985 . After completing his military service, he toured with the Fat Boys . He released a single with Moses Pelham on the Offenbach label Logic Records . In 1990 he was supported by the local music producers Michael Münzing and Luca Anzilotti for their Snap! engaged as a rapper and front man. The first single The Power with the rap elements Butlers became an international success. However, after the release of the second album, he fell out with the producers and left the band in 1992.
Butler tried to build a solo career and in 1993 released the album Make Way For The Maniac on Polydor , from which four singles were decoupled. The following year he founded the band Centory , which reached middle chart positions with two releases from the album Alpha Centory, which was released by the EMI Group . After completing the tour following the album , Butler left the band.
In 1999 he rapped on Victoria Silvstedt's single Rocksteady Love and also appeared in the accompanying music video. As a snap! attempted a comeback the following year , Butler was brought back by the producers. However, the single Gimme a Thrill could not place itself in the charts and the project was discontinued. In 2003, Master Blaster and Butler produced the single Ballet Dancer , which made it into the top 40 in Germany and Austria. In 2005 another solo single was released with New Day , which, however, did not attract much attention.
In 2014 the band Susanne Blech hired the rapper for the song Killer is a Man Who Don't Fuck with the Music .
