history
Initiator Christoph Werner had been planning to bring all of the 1990s stars together on stage for a long time and was able to successfully implement this in the Mannheim Maimarktclub in 2013. The following year, the event moved to the large Maimarkthalle and was sold out again with over 10,000 visitors. The media impact was so great that it got the 90s ball rolling in Germany. Many other organizers enriched themselves at this party format and also booked the popular Eurodance acts for live shows. With an ever-growing range of offers for visitors to sunshine live "The 90s - Live On Stage" in 2015 and 2016, the 5-year anniversary show took place in 2017, which, due to its size, took up the Maimarktclub and Maimarkthalle. Sold out again, this time with 11,000 visitors, Germany's largest 90s party set new standards. 20 artists spread over 2 stages. As interest in 90s music continued to grow, "Retro Active" was created for the first time in 2016, a 90s-style party evening - but without live acts, but with the popular DJs of the colorful decade.
Further events in the 90s and 2000s style of Sunshine Live are also planned.
In September 2016, "sunshine live - Die 2000er - Live on Stage" was held for the first time with around 3000 visitors.
