Kadem Turgay Poyraz (born October 13, 1958 in Ordu ) is a former Turkish football player . He played for the two clubs Orduspor and Sakaryaspor and was involved in both of the most important successes in their respective club histories. With 190 first division appearances for Sakaryaspor he is the player with the most Süper Lig appearances in the club's history.

Career

society

Poyraz started his professional career in the 1971/72 season with Orduspor , the first division club in his hometown Ordu. Here he made his professional debut in the league game on September 11, 1976 against Galatasaray Istanbul . With his second season he captured a regular place there and kept it until he left in the summer of 1981. During this time he was fourth in the first league with his club and thus achieved the greatest success in club history.

After Orduspor surprisingly missed relegation in the summer of 1981 and had to relegate to the second division, Poyraz left the club and hired together with his teammate Şenol Çorlu at the first division newcomer Sakaryaspor . This club had managed with some seasoned players such as Coşkun Demirbakan , Yenal Kaçıra , Zafer Göncüler and many young players to move up to the 1st Lig for the first time in the summer of 1981 . The team included young and then unknown players such as Nezihi Tosuncuk , Oğuz Çetin , Bahri Kaya , Aykut Yiğit , all of whom would later become important personalities in Turkish football. In this environment, the team ended the 1981/82 season in 5th place in the table and advanced to the surprise team of the season. The team thus achieved the best first division placement in the club's history. Poyraz formed with Yenal Kaçıra and Coşkun Demirbakan the defense of his team and rose with his performances to the Turkish national player. After the club missed relegation in the summer of 1986, Poyraz went with him to the 2nd Turkish league and contributed in the next season to the fact that the club achieved direct promotion as a second division champion. After the promotion, Poyraz and his team surprisingly won the Turkish Cup . After this success he played another season for Sakaryaspor and left this club in the summer of 1989 with 190 first division appearances for Sakaryaspor as the player with the most Süper Lig appearances in the club's history.

For the 1989/90 season he returned to his home club, the second division club Orduspor. He played here for two seasons and ended his career in the summer of 1991.

National team

Poyraz 'national team career began in January 1977 with a commitment for the Turkish U-18 national team. Two years later he played for the Turkish B national team, the then second selection of the Turkish national team.

In 1975 he was nominated for the first time and for the squad of the Turkish national team as part of a qualifying game of the 1982 World Cup against the Icelandic national team by national coach Fethi Demircan and made his international debut in this game.

Overall, Poyraz completed four U-18, five B and two A internationals for Turkey.
