The waterfall tower ( Polish Turnia nad Dziadem ) is a mountain in the Polish High Tatras with a height of 1901 m npm
Location and surroundings
Below the summit are the Roztokatal , Bialkatal and Waksmunder Tal valleys .
The neighboring peak in the Waalchenköpfe ( Wołoszyn ) massif is Bankberg ( Wierch nad Zagonnym Żlebem ), separated by the Kerbe ( Karbik ) mountain pass . The Turnia nad Dziadem is the northernmost peak of the massif, the slope of which drops further north to the Palenica Białczańska alpine pasture .
etymology
The name Turnia nad Szczotami can be translated as the tower above the grandfather . A rock formation in the mountain is called grandfather .
tourism
The Turnia nad Dziadem was part of the Orla Perć high-altitude path from 1903 to 1932 . However, the section from the Krzyżne mountain pass to the Polana pod Wołoszynem mountain pasture was closed in 1932. Since then, the area has been a strict nature reserve. It is not accessible to hikers.
