Tursunbek Chyngyschew

Tursunbek Tschyngyschew ( Kyrgyz Турсунбек Чынгышев ; born October 15, 1942 in the Kyrgyz SSR ) is a Kyrgyz politician and former Prime Minister of the Central Asian state.

Career

Tschyngyschew started his political career in the Kyrgyz Soviet Socialist Republic . There he was a member of the Communist Party and made a name for himself above all as an economic politician . Tschyngyschew has been committed to democracy in Kyrgyzstan since the 1980s . As Secretary of State Tschyngyschew was already before independence under Askar Akayev active, the 1990 became president of the Kyrgyz SSR. After the independence of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan on August 31, 1991, Akayev became president. In February 1992 Chyngyschew succeeded Andrei Iordan as Prime Minister. His term of office lasted until December 1993, when he was brought down by a corruption scandal involving the Seabaco company, which had attracted attention through gold smuggling and contacts with organized crime . A successful vote of no confidence ended his term of office. Chyngyschew continued his career in the private sector, including the Kyrgyz oil company and the banking sector.
