Asim Beischenbajewitsch Issabekow (born April 4, 1960 in Araschan , Rajon Alamüdün , Tschüi region ) is a Kyrgyz politician . He was Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan from January to March 2007 .

Asim Issabekow worked from 1980 to 1984 as a locksmith and tractor driver in the state breeding company "Strelnikowa". From 1984 to 1986 he worked at the Ministry of Interior of the Soviet Union . In addition to these activities, he completed an economics degree at the Kyrgyz State National University , which he graduated in 1986.

In 1986 and 1987 he held various posts in the Komsomol , the state Soviet youth organization. From 1988 to 1989 he was an instructor and head of department at the Executive Committee of the Soviet of Alamudunsky Rajon. 1989-1992 he was party secretary and deputy director of the state farm "Tash Moinok". 1992 to 1993 he headed the administration of the Alamudunski Rajons. After that he worked in the private sector. In 1996 Issabekow rose to the administration of the Chüi region, in which he held various posts until 2001, most recently that of the deputy administrative director.

From 2001 to 2002 he worked on the staff of the Kyrgyz Prime Minister, where he was responsible for contact and cooperation with the self-governing bodies at regional and local level. From 2002 to 2004 he was chairman of the Kyrgyz state fund for economic development.

From March to September 2005, Issabekow headed the administrative apparatus of the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan as Minister. In October 2005 he was appointed advisor to the Kyrgyz President. From November 21, 2005 to May 10, 2006 he was Head of Department and Deputy Director of the Presidential Office of Kyrgyzstan. He then rejoined the cabinet and was confirmed as Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Manufacturing on June 26, 2006.

On January 29, 2007, he was elected Prime Minister by parliament after the previous incumbent Felix Kulow , who had been proposed again for this post by President Kurmanbek Bakiyev , twice failed to obtain the necessary majority. Issabekow was considered a compromise candidate in the dispute between the President and Parliament. In order to defuse the still smoldering conflict, Issabekow was dismissed by President Bakiyev on March 29th. He was replaced by the previous opposition politician Almasbek Atambayev .
