Temir Argembajewitsch Sarijew ( Kyrgyz Темир Аргембаевич Сариев ; born June 17, 1963 ) is a Kyrgyz politician .

Life

The rise of Sarijew's political career began in 1989 as a trainer in the organizational department of the district committee of Alamüdün Province in northern Kyrgyzstan. In 1991 he was already deputy chairman of the Alamüdün district committee. In the same year, Sarijew set up the first Kyrgyz commodity exchange, which he ran until 1995.

From 2000 to 2007 Sarijew was elected twice in succession to the Dschogorku Kengesch (Kyrgyzstan parliament) and was a member of the budget and finance committee.

From April 8, 2010 to September 5, 2012, Sarijew was finance minister of Kyrgyzstan in the Kyrgyzstan transitional government . As successor to Joomart Otorbayev , Sarijew was Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan from May 1, 2015. In April 2016, Sarijew resigned from this office.

Sarijew had been a member of the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan (SDPK) since 2006 . The party was involved in government from 2007, when the chairman of the SDPK Almasbek Atambayev became prime minister in March. Temir Sarijew resigned from the SDPK in protest.
