Andrei Iordan

Andrei Andrejewitsch Iordan ( Russian Андрей Андреевич Иордан ; born December 22, 1934 in Klarus , Volga-German Republic , Soviet Union ; † January 20, 2006 in Bishkek , Kyrgyzstan ) was a Soviet - Kyrgyz politician. From 1991 to 1992 he was Prime Minister of the now independent Kyrgyzstan.

Life

Andrei Iordan was born in the Volga German Republic , in the Soviet Union. After his training, he moved to the Kyrgyz SSR , to Osh, in 1954 . In Osh he started working in the local automobile plant. Iordan stayed there until 1964. From 1968 he finally moved to Karasuu and worked there until also in an automobile factory, but now as director. At the same time, he began studying at the Frunze Polytechnic Institute (now Bishkek University of Technology ), which he also graduated in 1972. Then Iordan was able to work as one of the leading engineers in the Ministry of Transport of the Kyrgyz Soviet Republic. In 1979 he finally became Deputy Minister of Transport in Kyrgyzstan, from 1987 he held this office himself. In the last years of the existence of the Soviet Union, Iordan was then also active in the Council of Ministers of the Kyrgyz SSR. Kyrgyzstan gained independence in 1991, but Iordan continued to be politically active. On November 28, 1991, Nassirdin Isanov , the first Prime Minister of independent Kyrgyzstan, was killed in a car accident after only about three months in office. Thereupon Iordan took over this post on November 29th and remained in this position until February 10th, 1992. Iordan worked in the Ministry of Commerce of his country until 1998, afterwards for some time as a government advisor. For his services to the country he was also awarded the Thanks Medal of the Kyrgyz Republic. In January 2006 Iordan died at the age of 71 in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek .
