The Twiste is an almost 16 km long right tributary of the Oste .
It arises from a system of ditches that drains the Hammoor . The Hammoor is located in the area of the municipality of Ahlerstedt in the triangle of the places Oersdorf , Wohlerst and Winderswohlde and has a drainage into the floodplain via the ditch system
From there it flows partly straightened to the southwest and in the true sense of the word as a moor and meadow river , because only the small settlement of Twistenbostel is located directly on the water .
About 1 km east of Godenstedt directly on the municipal boundary between Zeven and Seedorf (near Zeven) it flows into the Oste. The entire course of the river is located in the area of the Selsingen and Zeven municipalities .
