Tyrell van Boog (* 1970 ) is a German actor and author .

Life

Van Boog is a PhD historian; One focus of his studies was media, especially film and theater-historical aspects. Even as a student, he worked as an actor in documentaries such as Hitler's children . He studied acting and also published his first short stories and poems. He also worked as a photo model and radio reporter, among other things.

Van Boog has been a stage actor since the 2000s. Among other things, he was seen in various productions at the Bimah Jewish Theater in Berlin from 2007 to 2009. In 2012 he took on the role of servant at the Jedermann Festival in Berlin Cathedral and played Frederick the Great in the satirical play Fritz von China . With the staged reading for four people Ich (?), König und Dictator , van Boog made his debut as a director and playwright in 2008. He also wrote a script for the play in which van Boog critically examines the coming to terms with the Franco dictatorship in Spain. Van Boog was on television between 2011 and 2015, among other things, in the series Good times, bad times and ways to happiness - to see tracks in the sand . Van Boog also appeared in game scenes in documentaries. The documentary Der Kanzler des Chancellor , in which van Boog played the SPD politician Horst Ehmke , received the Magnolia Award in 2011 in Shanghai in the category “Best History Documentation ”. The ZDF multi-part series "The Great Beginning - 500 Years of the Reformation", in which van Boog mimed a farmer and illiterate, was awarded the German TV Prize in 2018 as the best infotainment. In the same year he parodied the US horror series The Walking Dead for FOX Channel on the occasion of the German start of season 9 . Van Boog voiced his voice to a homeless man in the comedy film Posthumous . In 2017 he worked as a voice actor on the German version of the US animation series "Home: Adventure with Tip and Oh". As a musician, he improvised the soundtrack for the short film Cafémezzo , which was shown in 2011 at the "99-fire-Filmfestival" with van Boog in the role of clarinetist. In 2014, van Boog played an invalid returnee from the war in the video for the musical “The Miracle of Bern”, which has won the German Musical Theater Prize several times.
