content

The lyrics to Mein Berg are written entirely in German. The music and the text were written jointly by the Count, Markus Tombülle and Henning Verlage. Musically, the song moves in the realm of pop-rock .

“I give myself a moment and can see the child in me
whose greatest fear has always been to stand alone in life.

I open my eyes and see as many as me.
Everyone goes up their mountain and wants to feel that they are valuable. "

- Refrain, original excerpt

At the beginning the count sings the song from the first person perspective (I open my eyes), from the last chorus he sings the song from the we perspective (we open our eyes).

The Count said the following about the origin of the song:

“Well, I think I've already written a lot of personal songs that deal with my innermost emotions. With the song, however, you have to be very clear that I also have a certain amount of self-awareness that I've got over the last few months and years. In this song I explain why I am the way I am. Why did I become a musician and what my mountain has been in my life that I always go up. Always looking for applause, always looking for confirmation, always looking for a feeling of value. I always walked up the path and sometimes forgot to look to the right and left and sometimes I forgot all the people who walked this path with me. I gained this insight because I always had the big goal of personally getting confirmation for myself through the applause that makes me feel valuable. Basically Mein Berg is an explanation why Gipfelstürmer is the last Unheilig album and why Gipfelstürmer heralds the musical farewell. However, one can also say that everyone goes up their mountain, always has the big goal in mind and one can basically say: we all go up a mountain personally for ourselves. Fight us up there, believing that there is great happiness up there, believing that our fulfillment is up there and on this way, I think it is just important not to forget the people who lead the way with you go up there. "

Music video

The music video for Mein Berg celebrated its premiere on March 13, 2015, on YouTube . Unheilig was supported by the actors Niklas Marc Heinecke and Tyrell van Boog . At the beginning two children can be seen climbing up a mountain of sand. Then a couple can be seen sitting on a bridge, while the man (Nik) is playing a song with his acoustic guitar for the woman. Later they both sit together while watching TV and see a musician who wins an ECHO , whereupon Nik tells his girlfriend that he wants to go there too. This is followed by a recording in the recording studio and the selection of the cover image. Then a chart evaluation can be seen, which shows Nik at position one on the charts. This is followed by concert excerpts, the celebration of a gold record and the ECHO's own profit. At the end you see Nik desperately trying to write new texts and pushing his girlfriend away in the process. During a thunderstorm on the red carpet, he sees his girlfriend and admits his mistake to her and goes to her to leave the event together. In between times the Count can be seen singing the song alone in an arena with a piano. The total length of the video is 4:49 minutes. Directed by Markus Gerwinat.
