The songs mainly focus on feelings and sensations; this is how the count describes in "Spiegelbild" a dialogue with himself in the form of a mirror image. There he sees himself as a child and sees his fears, dreams and experiences that have made him what he became. The song Puppeteer describes the basic idea of the puppet theater , which the Count transfers to the present day and describes his life on an equal footing with Unheilig.
style
On this album, too, the guitars have got more space and dominance in the songs. The basic structure of the songs is still a very danceable rhythm, but with titles like Be my light or By your side there are also ballad-like songs, where the Count's voice is significantly softer than in the other songs and the music is almost purely instrumental is. With How many years and The curtain falls there are two quieter pieces, the latter even has a guitar solo. The last title Memoria, on the other hand, is the only purely instrumental piece.
The e-zine laut.de also compared some of the songs - mainly because of the singing - with Rammstein .
Single releases
As a single decoupled from the album, An Ihr Seite was released , which contains 2 different versions of the song, a video and a club mix from Goldene Zeiten . The extraction of reflection did not occur as a single, but as EP , on the CD can be found next to three different versions of the song (including a remix of the Krupps ) the orchestral version of The Story as well as three new songs ( Sleepless , SSDD and witch hunt ).
Shadow Play (Tour CD)
At the same time as the puppet show, a tour CD was also released, entitled Shadow Play, which could only be purchased from Unheilig on the puppet show. The CD was a split release by Unheiligs with the bands goJA moon ROCKAH and FAQ . Unheiligs Part accounts for more than half with eight of a total of 13 titles. In addition to live versions of well-known songs such as Guardian Angel , Sage Ja , Freiheit or Mein Stern , there were also four completely new songs with the titles Letter to you, Kalt , Leblos and Sleeping Beauty . The latter is an unabridged reading by the Count of Grimm's fairy tale Sleeping Beauty , which is only accompanied by very soft music in the background.
