According to Der Graf : “The song 'Lights of the City' describes a different perspective on the chaos around me.” He had the wish “to stand above things, to look at this city from above in order to have an overview . "
Music genre
Lichter Der Stadt is musically and harmonically strongly influenced by the song Where the Streets Have No Name by the band U2 . The song starts with a chorus and then switches to standard pop rock. Hitchecker subsumes the song like days like Gold and Brenne under transparent up-tempo songs that “rock” more suitable for radio.
Music video
The music video shows the singing Count standing on the roof of a skyscraper and looking down at the city at night. A taxi driver ( Anika Lehmann ) can be seen alternating with the count, driving passengers to their destination at night.
