Ulrich Diekmann

Ulrich Diekmann (* 1954 in Jülich in the Rhineland) is a German painter and video artist .

life and work

From 1977 to 1983 he studied at the Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste Frankfurt am Main, Städelschule , with Raimer Jochims and Hermann Nitsch .

The focus of his work was initially painting and bizarre sculptures , then, since 1998, increasingly picture-text works, installations and video works, the subject of which is the “absurdity of the real” and the ironic questioning of various social and art-immanent phenomena.

His works have been exhibited in Germany and internationally since 1982, including in galleries, art associations and museums in Frankfurt am Main , Wiesbaden , Marburg , Dresden , Cologne , Berlin , Hanover , Hamburg , Mannheim as well as in London and New York .

Ulrich (UKE) Diekmann lives and works in Frankfurt am Main .
