history

U 2371 was assigned to the 4th U-Flotilla in Stettin as a training boat , but never left the port of Hamburg. The boat was sunk by the crew themselves on May 3, 1945 at 2:00 a.m. The wreck was demolished after the end of the war.

The last commandant, Lieutenant for the Sea Johannes Kühne, previously served on U 387 . The crew of U 2371 included, in addition to the commander, Wilhelm Boltenhagen, Kurt Gumm, Harald Hormes and Walter König, among others.
