Ubaldo Calabresi
Ubaldo Calabresi (born January 2, 1925 in Sezze , Italy , † June 14, 2001 ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .
Ubaldo Calabresi was ordained a priest on March 27, 1948. Pope Paul VI appointed him on July 3, 1969 titular Archbishop of Fundi and appointed him Apostolic Delegate to Sudan. His episcopal ordination on September 28, 1969 was donated to him by Cardinal Secretary of State Jean-Marie Cardinal Villot ; Co- consecrators were Sergio Pignedoli , Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , and Arrigo Pintonello , Archbishop of Terracina-Latina, Priverno and Sezze.
In 1972 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Sudan and in 1978 Nuncio in Venezuela. In 1981 Pope John Paul II appointed him Nuncio in Argentina. On March 4, 2000, his age-related resignation was granted.
