Udo Giulini (born February 12, 1918 in Hamburg ; † August 5, 1995 in Heidelberg ) was a German lawyer, entrepreneur and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and the humanistic grammar schools in Lübeck and Heidelberg and graduating from high school in 1937 at the German College in Bad Godesberg , Giulini did Reich labor service and was then drafted into the armed forces. He took part in the Second World War as a soldier , was wounded and studied chemistry in Munich during a stay in a hospital in 1941/42 . In 1943 he was captured by the Soviets in Stalingrad , some of which he spent in camp No. 97 in Yelabuga in what is now the Republic of Tatarstan . In 1950 he was released from captivity.

Afterwards Giulini took a degree in law at the University of Heidelberg in which he in 1953 with the first state examination and 1954 with the graduation to the Dr. jur. finished. He completed a traineeship as a businessman at the blast furnace works in Lübeck, then became an authorized signatory and in 1956 managing director of Gebr. Giulini GmbH in Ludwigshafen . From 1974 to 1979 he was President of the Palatinate Chamber of Commerce in Ludwigshafen.

Giulini was a member of the CDU.

MP

Giulini was a member of the German Bundestag from 1965 to 1972. He was always drawn into parliament via the state list of the CDU Rhineland-Palatinate .
