Udo A. Heinrich (* 1947 in Dinslaken ) is a German painter .

Vita

In his youth, which he spent on the Lower Rhine, his talent was publicly recognized for the first time and was awarded a first prize from the city of Wesel for his ink and pen drawings . It was not least this early award that motivated him to expand his range of painting after taking painting and drawing lessons with regionally known artists at the time. It was mainly based on Joseph Beuys , Gerhard Richter and Jörg Immendorff .

Today Heinrich masters a wide variety of painting techniques with watercolors , acrylic or oil and has developed his own painting style on an autodidactic basis. Life studies and trips, including to the Caribbean , Mauritius and the United Arab Emirates gave impetus for the artist's choice of subjects. Initially, primarily landscape watercolors and beach scenes were created, followed by other depictions of nature. The painter discovered the ideal lighting conditions for his work in the US state of Florida , where he lived for a few years. Here he also began to incorporate his joy in golf into his work. His first series of pictures about golf, "Golf - Game of Life", was created and received public recognition from Sarasota County . The works of Udo A. Heinrich were honored with the Certificate of Excellence by the Palm Art Awards jury in 2007 and 2009 .

Today Heinrich lives and works in the Canaries and in the Leipziger Land . He mainly deals with the series of topics of well-known personalities, as well as the topics of the environment and renewable energies .

Subject: contemporaries

At the beginning of 2006 he started a new series of paintings, called “Profiles and Connections”, with which he critically deals with the correspondence between politics, current affairs and art. It all started with a profile picture of Chancellor Angela Merkel - Katharina the Great can also be seen in the background . This series of topics has been continued sporadically in recent years. Another picture shows former US President Bush . He is shown in front of a riding crusader. Even Franz Muentefering is shown and Mephisto accompanied with a lottery ticket. In 2009, the series was expanded to include a profile of President Barack Obama in front of the portrait of Martin Luther King .

There is a contextual relationship between the personality shown in the foreground in profile and the background, which is often easy to read for the viewer, for example the comparison of two great women in history in the first work of this series of topics. In the case of other profile connection images, the relationship between the foreground and background display can only be understood when the viewer is aware of the connections from the corresponding messages. This is the case, for example, with the double portrait from 2007 of former Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder and former President Vladimir Putin . The background here is the map showing the Gazprom gas pipeline from Russia to Germany. In the titles of the paintings, the artist gives the viewer further indications of their respective intentions, including their concerns about possible future developments.
