Uffe Steen

Uffe Steen (* 1954 in Odense ) is a Danish jazz and blues musician ( guitar ).

Live and act

Steen has been a guitarist since 1966. Between 1972 and 1976 she studied clarinet at the Funen Music Conservatory for four years , but then returned to the guitar and became an integral part of the Danish jazz rock scene . He led his own Uffe Steen Trio, with which he released two albums, but also belonged to groups such as Jens Jefsen Trio, Shades of Blue , The Blue Junction , Valdemar Rasmussen Trio, Indra and Circles . He also worked with Joey Baron , Jeff Ballard , Maria Bergman, Allan Botschinsky , Thomas Clausen , Hal Galper , Tim Hagans , Lars Jansson , Alex Acuña , David Liebman , Lars Møller , Alex Riel , Bob Rockwell , Jimmy Smith , Bernard Purdie , Peter Vuust , Morten Ramsbøl and Hans Ulrik .

Steen has been a member of the teaching staff of the Jutland Music Conservatory since 2009 as a guitar lecturer and has published several textbooks.

Steen was awarded the Ben Webster Prize in 2015.
