Uganik Island is an island in the Kodiak Archipelago in Alaska in the United States . It is located in a bay on the west side of Kodiak Island . The island is 156.7 km² and uninhabited. Between June and September, Uganik is home to salmon fishermen who set up camp along the beaches. Hunting and fishing is only allowed seasonally and with a special license. The island is part of the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge .
