Sundstrom Island is an island in the Kodiak Archipelago in Alaska in the United States . It is located south of Kodiak Island in the immediate vicinity of Aiaktalik Island . The island is 1.2 km² and uninhabited. It was named in 1906 after Gustaf L. Sundstrom , a helmsman on the Patterson steamship , who drowned while on duty.
