The Ujesd Alexandrija ( Russian Александрийский уезд / Alexandrijski Ujesd , Ukrainian Олександрійський повіт Olexanderijskyj powit ) was a 1805 formed Ujesd (administrative unit) of the provinces of Kherson in the Russian Empire . After its end it existed until 1920. The administrative seat of the Ujesd was the city of Oleksandrija in the center of today's Ukraine .

The Ujesd had an area of ​​9810.6 km² and was located in the northeast of the Kherson Governorate. The district bordered the Yekaterinoslav Governorate ( Ujesd Verkhnedneprovsk ) to the east , with the Inhulets and Shovta rivers forming a natural border. In the north the Dnieper formed the border, opposite it was the Poltava governorate .

The Ujesd Alexandrija comprised the north and east of today 's Kirowohrad Oblast and parts of the west of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast , such as the urban area of ​​today's Schowti Vody . The area thus extended roughly over today's Rajons Oleksandrija , Petrowe , Switlowodsk , Onufriivka and the city of Oleksandrija.
