Ukraine Air Alliance is a Ukrainian airline based in Kiev .

history

The airline was founded on February 28, 1992 and began flight operations in 1993. Since then it has been operating charter flights for passengers and cargo in Europe, Asia and Africa. UN aid flights have also been carried out in the past. Scheduled codeshare flights are also offered, including with Iraqi Airways .

On October 5 2019, the deprived EASA of Ukraine Air Alliance approval for entry into the airspace of the European Union , on the same day which was operating license suspended by the Ukrainian authorities.

Incidents

In the history of Ukraine Air Alliance, four planes were lost in accidents, as a result of which 12 people lost their lives:

  • On February 4, 1996, an Antonov An-32 (registration UR-48008) came off the runway during take-off in Luremo, Angola and was irreparably damaged because the nose landing gear had not previously been locked. The five inmates survived the accident.
  • On August 9, 2013, while preparing for take-off at Leipzig / Halle Airport, the auxiliary power unit of an An-12BP (registration UR-CAG) caught fire. While the seven crew members were able to escape unharmed, almost 49,000 previously loaded chicken chicks died in the flames.
  • On August 30, 2014, an An-12 (registration UR-DWF) crashed in Tamanrasset , South Algeria, shortly after take-off. None of the seven inmates survived. The machine had oil drilling equipment from Glasgow , Scotland on board and was en route to Malabo , Equatorial Guinea . The stopover in Tamanrasset was planned.
  • On October 4, 2019, an An-12 launched in Vigo (registration UR-CAH) crashed shortly before landing in Lviv . During the emergency landing about 1.5 kilometers from the runway, 5 of the 8 occupants were killed.
