The Ulba ( Russian Ульба́ ) is a right tributary of the Irtysh in Kazakhstan .

The ulba arises at the confluence of the Tichaya (right) and Grammatucha (left) rivers southwest of the Ivanov ridge in the western Altai Mountains .

Cities on the river are Berezovka and Öskemen , where the river flows into the Irtysh.

Hydrology

The river has a catchment area of 4990 km². The average flow rate for the year 1965–1984 was around 97 m³ / s. (according to other sources 100 m³ / s).

pollution

The Ulba is one of the most polluted rivers in the Irtysh catchment area. The pollution , especially with zinc and copper, is due to mining .
