Donations from Wilhelm Schelsky
On April 19, 2008, Der Spiegel reported that Adam had received campaign donations from Wilhelm Schelsky , the former head of the AUB union , which Siemens co-financed , without officially showing them off. According to Spiegel, the donations are said to have been hidden and paid without a donation receipt. Schelsky then financed Adam's campaign “ to a considerable extent ”.
" Süddeutsche Zeitung " and " Der Spiegel " put the amount of donations that Adam von Schelsky is said to have received at 110,000 euros. The central investigation report of the Nuremberg Soko " Amigo ", which investigated the detained Schelsky, was named as the source .
Adam admitted that he had received donations in kind from Schelsky which he had not reported to the President of the German Bundestag in accordance with the rules of conduct of the German Bundestag. Ulrich Adam then handed over a list of the donations in kind to Norbert Lammert , President of the Bundestag . These donations always went to him personally and therefore did not qualify as party donations; there was also no consideration given to Schelsky for the campaign donations. He has now hired a tax advisor to check whether the Schelsky material is subject to gift tax.
The investigations of the public prosecutor's office in Hof were discontinued on November 14, 2008 due to a lack of suspicion.
