Ulrich Darjes was the son of the court and regional court tax office Johann Friedrich Darjes in Güstrow. From 1808 he studied theology at the University of Rostock . He was a member of the Corps Vandalia I Rostock and probably also a member of the Rostochia Rostock that emerged from it . On January 13, 1811, as a student at the University of Jena, he was one of the founders of the Vandalia Jena Corpsland team , from which the original fraternity was to emerge in 1815 . Darjes participated in the Wars of Liberation from 1813 to 1815 and initially joined the Lützow Freikorps with other Jenenser vandals . After completing his studies, he became a collaborator of the prepositus Ernst Breem (1770–1844) in Gägelow . From 1832 until his death in 1864 he was pastor at the village church in Rethwisch .

Karl Theodor Pabst, the biographer of the Jenenser vandal Theodor Müller , referred to reports by Darjes to describe the time they spent studying together in Jena and gave a detailed account of the disputes between the national teams in Jena in 1809 and 1810 ff.
