Ulrich Petzold

Hans Ulrich Petzold (born September 23, 1951 in Lutherstadt Wittenberg ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After the completion of professional education as a locksmith in 1970 Petzold began studying at the Technical University of Magdeburg , as he 1974 Diploma - Engineering ended. He then worked in the technical supervision of the chemical and lignite industries. Since 1999 he has been a specialist consultant at DEKRA Automobil GmbH .

Ulrich Petzold is married, has two sons and lives in Selbitz .

Political party

During the fall of the Wall , Petzold joined the GDR CDU in October 1989 . From 1990 to 1994 he was in the district of Graefenhainichen and from 1994 to 1998 (after the district reform of Saxony-Anhalt in 1994 ) in the district of Wittenberg as an assessor in the CDU district association and was its chairman from 1998 to 2006. From 1998 to 2000 he was also a member of the CDU state executive committee for Saxony-Anhalt.

Petzold was a member of the German Bundestag from 1990 to 1998 and from 2002 to 2017 . From 2002 to 2005 he was Deputy Chairman of the Committee for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.

Ulrich Petzold took 1990 and 1994 as directly selected delegates of the constituency Wittenberg - Gräfenhainichen - Jessen - Roßlau - Zerbst and then always on the national list Saxony-Anhalt in the Bundestag one. In the 2009 federal election , Petzold won the direct mandate with 36% of the first votes in the Dessau - Wittenberg constituency (constituency 71). In the 2013 federal election , Petzold again won the direct mandate in this constituency. As a member of parliament, he became a member of the German-Korean parliamentary group.

Petzold was a member of the committees for the environment, nature conservation, building and reactor safety and for culture and media in the German Bundestag.

Furthermore, Petzold has been a member of the municipal council or (since 2010) of the Selbitz local council since 1990 and a member of the Wittenberg district council since 1999 .
