Ulrich Rademacher

Ulrich Rademacher (* 1952 ) is a German pianist , university professor and board member of the German Music Council .

Live and act

Ulrich Rademacher studied piano, chamber music and conducting with Sándor Végh and Jakob Gimpel, among others . He works as a pianist as a soloist, chamber music and as a song accompanist as well as a conductor and has worked internationally with renowned soloists and orchestras such as u. a. with Frank Peter Zimmermann , Božo Paradžik , Ingeborg Danz , Barbara Schlick , Christoph Prégardien , the Cherubini Quartet and the Greek National Orchestra. Concert tours have taken him to Russia , America , Africa , Southeast Asia and Israel, among others . Music productions were created in collaboration with WDR , SWR , SDR , Deutschlandfunk and the EMI , Solo Musica and Musicom labels.

From 1989 to 2017 Rademacher was director of the Westphalian School for Music in Münster . He founded the Young Westphalian Baroque Ensemble and the Westphalian Youth Symphony Orchestra and was co-initiator of a youth academy for the gifted . He also supported the creation of the “Theater Youth Orchestra” project in collaboration with the Münster Theater .

Rademacher is a member of the Presidium of the German Music Council and chairman of the “Federal Expert Committee on Education”. He is also the federal chairman of the Association of German Music Schools (VdM), chairman of the project council and the overall jury of the Jugend Musiziert competition and a member of the “Europe and International Affairs” committee of the German Cultural Council .

Rademacher taught a. a. at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe as well as worldwide as part of master courses , u. a. at the Musikhochschule Münster , the Sibelius Academy ( Helsinki ), the San Francisco State University , the California State University (Fresno) , the Grieg Academy in Bergen , the Real Conservatorio Madrid as well as in Greece, Italy, Russia and France.

He is currently an honorary professor for song design at the Cologne University of Music .
