Count Ulrich Hunold Hermann von Baudissin (born February 22, 1816 in Greifswald , † December 3, 1893 in Wiesbaden ) was a German writer and painter.

He was one of the original from the Oberlausitz originating in the Thirty Years' War of Schleswig-Holstein -down noble family Baudissin . He was a son of Christian Carl Graf von Baudissin (born March 4, 1790 at Gut Knoop ; † April 9, 1868 in Itzehoe ) and his wife Henriette, née Kuniger (born January 6, 1788 in Schleswig ; † December 11, 1864 in Greifswald). After his childhood in Jutland , he attended a cadet school in Copenhagen at a young age . Then he went to the Danish army, with which he fought during the Schleswig-Holstein uprising . In 1849 he suffered serious injuries at the Düppeler Schanzen . In 1861 he finished his military service with the rank of major.

After his time in the military, von Baudissin worked exclusively as a writer. He lived in Munich , Konstanz , Cannstatt and at the end of his life in Wiesbaden. He wrote novels and comedies, sometimes using the pseudonym “H. Hunold ”. The stage plays appeared in 1863 as "Little things for the German theater" and received a lot of attention.

Von Baudissin also worked as a painter and draftsman. When he was stationed as a soldier in Altona , he made 20 lithographs of garrison officers. In 1843 he traveled with his friend Louis Gurlitt via Düsseldorf and southern Germany to northern Italy. This is mostly how landscapes were created. From 1838 to 1848 he had eleven exhibitions in Charlottenborg .

Von Baudissin was married to Caroline Lerche (* March 20, 1813, † December 11, 1886 in Frederiksberg ) since March 29, 1843 , with whom he had a son. The marriage ended in divorce in 1857.
