Ulrike Demmer

Ulrike Demmer (born April 3, 1973 in Solingen ) is a German State Secretary and former journalist . She is deputy spokeswoman for the federal government and deputy head of the press and Information Office (SRSin I) of the German Federal Government .

Life

After attending school in Leverkusen , Demmer studied law in Bonn and Berlin from 1992–1998 . She then worked as a project manager in the communications and marketing department of Radio Eins , a radio program of the RBB . After attending the Berlin School of Journalists , she worked for ZDF , Spiegel and Focus and headed the capital office of the editorial network Germany . From 2013 to 2016 she was a constant participant in the political talk show Thadeusz and the observer on rbb television .

Since June 13, 2016 Demmer has been one of two deputy government spokespersons and thus deputy of Steffen Seibert , the head of the press and information office of the federal government . In addition to the former Focus correspondent Martina Fietz, she represents the SPD side of the coalition in the team of government spokespersons and is the immediate superior of Tilman Seeger , the deputy head of the press and information office. Demmer's predecessor Christiane Wirtz joined the Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection as State Secretary in 2016 .
