To the whole (also spelled: "... umsGanze!", Abbreviated to UG ) is an association of independent, locally anchored groups of the autonomous scene that has existed since the end of 2006 . In terms of content, UG regards capitalism as “not reformable” and “to be fought unconditionally.” In the 2016 report on the protection of the constitution, the group is described as mainly active in northern Germany. According to their own statements, the aim is to establish a communist system . In 2016, the groups were assigned around 250 members who "largely organize protests and demonstrations" on the Day of German Unity .

Campaigns and Protests

For the first time in December 2006 , Ums Ganz went public with a call for protests against the G8 summit planned for June 2007 in Heiligendamm , based on Karl Marx's capital and theorists such as Fredric Jameson , Johannes Agnoli , Herbert Marcuse and the Situationist International . At the time, the alliance consisted of the groups Antifa (F) from Frankfurt, Redical M from Göttingen and TOP Berlin , which had been founded as the successor to the group Criticism and Practice Berlin , which was dissolved in October 2006 . All in all, on June 2, 2007 in Rostock, with its own block, took part in the opening demonstration of the protests against the G8 summit.

All around took part in protests against an "anti-Islamization conference" planned for September 2008 in Cologne by groups such as the Pro Cologne party , which was finally canceled.

On the occasion of several national anniversaries celebrating 20 years of the fall of the Berlin Wall, 60 years of the Basic Law and 20 years of German reunification - the alliance initiated an anti-national campaign in 2009 under the motto “State.Nation.Kapital.Scheiße!”. This campaign included a series of information and discussion events as well as two major demonstrations. In 2011 the campaign “Thank you for the flowers - Against integration and exclusion” was opened with the protests against the Conference of Interior Ministers in Frankfurt am Main on June 22, 2011 and continued with various regional events. Thematically, Umsollen criticizes racism and social chauvinism as a result of capitalist socialization with the campaign.

Under the motto “Peace. Joy. Eierkuchen. ”Organized all around together with FAU and ASJ at the beginning of October 2011 demonstrations against the unity celebrations in Bonn.

On January 27, 2012, Ums Ganz called for a demonstration against the WKR ball in Vienna, which was co-organized by the Autonomous Antifa Vienna alliance group . About 1,800 people took part in the demonstration.

On March 31, 2012, the alliance took part in “M31 - European day of action against capitalism”, which was held in 15 European countries “for a Europe-wide day of action against the authoritarian crisis policy of the troika made up of the EU Commission , IMF and ECB ” and “the decisive attempt carried out by Germany ... to restore Europe's competitiveness on the capitalist world market on the backs of wage earners and migrants. ”as well as“ against the nationalistic propaganda against wage earners in southern European countries and the military isolation of the EU's external borders… ”.

Between 16. – 19. May 2012 the alliance took part in the Blockupy Frankfurt organized by a wide range of groups . The call of the Ums Ganz alliance read: "For an end to violence - Fight capitalism 100%".

The speakers included Sonja Buckel , Alex Demirovic , Gerhard Hanloser , Michael Heinrich , Jens Wissel and Frieder Otto Wolf . Neues Deutschland and Jungle World reported, the latter also had a short series of discussions, where u. a. Stephan Grigat was critical.

"It won't stay the way it is!"

A second congress of the alliance on the topic of “Work and Crisis” took place under the motto “It won't stay the way it is!” From December 3rd to 5th, 2010 with a total of 500 participants at the Ruhr University Bochum and highlighted this Michael Heinrich, Thomas Sablowski , Rudi Schmidt , Jörg Sundermeier and Gerhard Stapelfeldt were invited at the end of the “State.Nation.Kapital.Scheiße.” Campaign initiated in 2009 .

Assessment of the protection of the constitution

According to the assessment of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution , the alliance, together with the Interventionist Left, is one of the “most successful actors” with “post- autonomous ” organizational approaches that are about maintaining militant concepts, but also about their communicability.

It also describes "itself as a" communist alliance "and thus describes its ideological claim: the goal is the communist revolution, the comprehensive transformation of state and society."

Inner-left criticism

The all- round alliance is criticized from the most varied of directions, from the left and anti-German influenced by post-structuralism as well as from anti-imperialist and Marxist sides.

On the occasion of the first alliance congress No Way Out , Stephan Grigat noted that Ums All had “not demonstrated against but with the state fetishists and professional Palestinians” in Heiligendamm and now wanted to add “the theoretical spectacle”.

The egg throwing at Oskar Lafontaine , which on March 28, 2009 was based on an all- round block , also gave cause for criticism . So wrote Diether Dehm , chairman of the Lower Saxon left , in a press statement, "militant fanatical followers of the Israeli government and intelligence yesterday attacked violently the chairman of the Left Party in Frankfurt." Werner Pirker wrote in the boy's world : "This is Well, the style of debate between anti-nationalists and those "autonomous anti-fascists" who regard the welfare state as a continuation of the "national community" and appreciate the social robbery of the "national comrades" as an act of reparation for the victims of the Holocaust. One more example of the continued existence of neoliberal hegemony. "

In the run-up to the protests against the turning point celebrations in 2009, the Leipzig group "Initiative against every term of extremism " (Inex) criticized the commemoration of the also annual Reichspogromnacht would be marginalized if the German national mobilization was reduced to its function of securing the business location in the global world market competition will. German nationalism means more, which is evident not least from the fact that it repeatedly opposes economic reason. Inex also opposes the notion of capitalism as an automatic subject that hardly leaves the individual free of choice. Even if the social conditions put both thinking and acting under pressure, “one could decide whether to be a Nazi or not, to confidently reproduce capitalism or to question it.” On the other hand, nothing to answer this question except agitation .
