As a scandal reporter, Liam Marple uses the pseudonym "Mrs. Jones “Gossip Stories. In order to accelerate his stagnant career, he, as a supposed fundraiser Harry Fletcher, with the help of his friend, gains access to a garden party where he wants to spy on the prime minister. Laura Bowden came to power through the accidental death of her predecessor, has two children and a husband who cheats on her with a man.
Quite unexpectedly, Liam and Laura find each other sympathetic, dance together, and Liam helps Laura take a break by escaping from the garden party with her. While he continues to play the fundraiser for Laura, he has to prove to his ex-wife and editor in the editorial office that he's still a good snoop and gossip reporter. The balancing act between job and love is becoming more and more difficult. Finally Laura finds out who "Harry Fletcher" is and ends the relationship. Liam then quits his job and writes a novel that eventually brings him together with Laura.
