Uni Elektro Fachgroßhandel GmbH & Co. KG is a German company and electrical wholesaler founded in 1970 . With its headquarters in Eschborn , Uni Elektro operates around 70 locations and 3 central warehouses across Germany . The company has been part of the Würth Group since 2000 . As a full-range supplier, Uni Elektro offers around 780,000 items from the product areas of electrical materials, industrial supplies, light, tools, data / network technology, household appliances, building technology, multimedia as well as renewable energies and building technology (EEGT).
history
Uni Elektro was founded on July 1st, 1970 through the merger of the companies Eugen Bauer, Alfred Elsholtz & Co. and Ludwig Spoerle KG. In 1997 Uni Elektro took over Walter Kluxen GmbH. In 2000 Uni Elektro became part of the Würth Group. In this context, Uni Elektro integrated itself into Würth electrical wholesaling (W.EG.). Between 2014 and 2016, the central warehouse in Eschborn was enlarged and modernized. The renovation work was carried out during ongoing operations so that the warehouse could still be used. The new logistics center opened for business in 2016. In 2018, the first 24/7 branch was opened in Berlin-Marzahn, in order to offer customers goods availability around the clock outside of the regular opening times.

The supply of the electrical trade and consumer trade is the core business.
Projects
With around 150 project customers, the company handles over 300 projects per year. For example, Uni Elektro supplied the ADAC headquarters in Munich , the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and the European Central Bank in Frankfurt am Main . Uni Elektro supplied the electrical material, lighting, as well as cables and lines.
Protec.class and Protec.net
Protec.class and Protec.net are the trademarks of Uni Elektro. Since the 2000s, Protec has been offering tools, electrical installation material, lighting systems, measuring devices and network components tailored to the needs of retailers and specialist tradesmen. Protec has a portfolio of around 4,000 items.
logistics
Uni Elektro has 3 warehouses in Germany with a total of 65,000 m² of storage and retail space. The largest central warehouse at the headquarters in Eschborn, with around 34,500 m² of storage space, has over 34,000 stock items. Around 2,000 items in incoming goods and over 15,000 items in outgoing goods are posted here every day. The fully automated small parts warehouse ( shuttle warehouse ) was put into operation in 2016 . The central warehouse in Mittenwalde (near Berlin ) has a storage area of around 19,000 m² and has around 32,000 inventory items. The central cable warehouse in Döbeln is purely a warehouse for cables and wires. With around 10,000 m² of storage and handling area, up to 5,000 cable drums with over 700 different thicknesses can be stored here. Over 45,000 articles are constantly in stock, which leads to a goods availability of 98%. More than 24,000 items are delivered daily, which are brought to customers by 200 vehicles via 11 distribution centers. The company almost always offers delivery within 24 hours.
E-commerce
Uni Elektro offers its customers an e-commerce platform, which is a combination of a B2B online shop, information portal and web service platform. In addition, Uni Elektro offers e-commerce interface solutions: IDS-Connect, OCI, UGS, UGL, web services, CSV and SHK-Connect.
Professional academy
The Uni-Elektro-Fachakademie has existed in the fields of education and training since the 2000s . The subject areas of the specialist seminars include electrical engineering, lighting and communication technology, as well as new technologies ( renewable energies , smart home , electric mobility ).
Trade fairs and events
Every 2 years Uni Elektro organizes a trade fair for the electrical wholesale trade in Germany with over 6,500 trade visitors from trade, craft and industry. Innovations and services are presented on almost 10,000 m² of exhibition space. New products, information and technical know-how are the focus of the Uni-Elektro-Fachmesse. More than 180 exhibiting top suppliers are represented at the fair. In addition to the trade fair, Uni Elektro also offers its customers events.
Certifications
To align the processes accordingly, Uni Elektro has implemented a quality management system that has been ISO 9001 certified since 1996. In addition, the company has had the status of Authorized Economic Operator since November 2010 (AEO No. from UNI ELEKTRO: DE AEOC 103916). This means that you can take advantage of simplifications in the context of customs clearance. Furthermore, Uni Elektro is one of Germany's best training companies, which was also awarded in 2018. This is the result of a study commissioned by the business magazine Focus Money. One year later, Focus Money was awarded TOP national employer 2020.
