Union is an American hard rock band founded by guitarist Bruce Kulick and singer John Corabi .

history

Corabi and Kulick were already known to each other when they decided in 1997 to start a joint project. Kulick had lost his job as a guitarist at Kiss 6 months earlier , Corabi had been replaced at Mötley Crüe. Both were therefore in similar life situations. They wrote some songs together and saw that it worked well, so they went ahead and did some demo recordings. They were supported by Curt Cuomo, who had previously worked with Kiss on the Carnival of Souls album . They completed the group with drummer Brent Fitz and bassist Jamie Hunting, and the group set about recording their first album, which was released in 1999 and was simply called Union . With the album in their luggage, the band made their way through clubs around the world, with Japan being particularly successful.

The second release, the live album Live in the Galaxy (1999), contained seven Union songs as well as Man in the Moon by The Scream , Corabi's first band with a record deal, a cover version of Cheap Tricks Surrender , Power to the Music , which Mötley Crüe recorded in 1994 with Corabi as vocalist, Jungle by Kiss, and the studio recorded You've Got to Hide Your Love Away by the Beatles .

The third and (for the time being) last Union album The Blue Room (2000) was recorded a bit more “radio-compatible” than the first studio CD.

Union was not very successful commercially. The group probably recruited its supporters mainly from the Kiss and Mötley Crüe fan camps.

In 2005, a DVD produced by Bruce Kulick and Jack Edward Sawyers with two concert recordings of the group was released.

Union was never officially dissolved. In an interview in June 2011, Kulick hinted that there might be an interesting announcement later that year about something he and John Corabi would do under the Union name. So far, however, there has not been such an event, but Kulick contributed guitar tracks for two songs of the November 2012 solo album by John Corabi.
