Bruce Kulick

Bruce Kulick (born December 12, 1953 in Brooklyn ) is an American rock musician and member of the band Grand Funk Railroad . He became known as the longtime guitarist of the band Kiss .

Career

Bruce Kulick started his professional career together with his brother Bob Kulick as guitarist for the touring band of Meat Loaf during the Bat Out Of Hell tour 1977- '78. At that time he was also a guitarist in the band Blackjack, the singer of which was Michael Bolton (still under his birth name Bolotin). Kulick and Bolton were the main songwriters at Blackjack for the two albums Blackjack (1979) and Worlds Apart (1980). Kulick took part in 1980 as a session guitarist on the recordings for the albums Tale Of The Tape by Billy Squier and Where's My Hero by Rozetta, then turned to a new band project and became a member of The Good Rats. With this group he recorded the album Great American Music in 1981 . His skills as a guitarist were also useful for the album Gypsy! asked by Stevie; Kulick also contributed to Michael Bolton's first solo album, guitar parts for two songs.

In December 1984, replacing the Kulick from some form of arthritis diseased Mark St. John at Kiss on lead guitar. Kulick played for Kiss for twelve years and played on the albums Asylum , Crazy Nights , Hot in the Shade , Revenge and Carnival of Souls .

In 1995, Kiss played on MTV Unplugged . At this gig, the founding members of Kiss, Peter Criss and Ace Frehley , joined the encores. The experience of performing with Criss and Frehley on the Unplugged Show was so positive that the group went on tour in 1996 with the original line-up and again with make-up. As a result, Kulick had to leave the band together with the then drummer Eric Singer , who now plays with the group again.

Then Kulick founded the band Union in 1996 with the singer John Corabi , who was released from Mötley Crüe , the drummer Brent Fitz and the bassist Jamie Hunting , with whom he released three albums. During this time he was also part of the Eric Singer Project (ESP), a cover band that also included Kiss drummer Eric Singer , singer John Corabi and bassist Karl Cochran. Since 2001 he has been lead guitarist for the band Grand Funk Railroad . In 2006, he played for It Snows in Hell on the album The Arockalypse by Lordi the lead guitar. In 2010 he played the solo part on the song "Call of the Wedding" on the Lordi album "Babez for Breakfast".

Bruce Kulick is the guitarist on a variety of tribute albums for other artists, many of which were produced by his brother Bob .

Kulick released three solo albums. The first, entitled Audio Dog, dates from 2001, followed by the album Transformer in 2003 . In 2010, BK3 was released , on which Gene Simmons , John Corabi , Tobias Sammet and Doug Fieger appeared as guest vocalists.

On January 4, 2014, Kulick married his girlfriend Lisa Lane.
