Kiss is the debut album by the hard rock band Kiss . It was released in 1974 on the Casablanca Records label . The album was produced by Kenny Kerner and Richie Wise and recorded at Bell Sound Studios in New York City . The album sold over 500,000 times in the US and got a gold record there . The album was released in Germany in November 1976.

Emergence

With the first demo and a completely new image with make-up , the band's manager, Bill Aucoin , managed to sign a record deal with Casablanca Records . Just two weeks after signing the contract, the studio recordings began in the Bell Sounds Studios in New York . The track list consists essentially of the pieces from the demo (except Watchin 'You ) and some newly written songs, of which Firehouse in particular is still one of the band's classics today.

Chart placements

In the US, the album was number 87 on the Billboard 200 and received a gold record for more than 500,000 units sold . According to estimates, the album is said to have sold around 100,000 times in Germany. In New Zealand , the album was at number 38 for a week.
