Brent Fitz (born March 27, 1970 in Winnipeg ) is a Canadian musician. His main instrument is the drums , but he is a multi-instrumentalist . In addition to working with musicians such as Theory of a Deadman , Alice Cooper , Vince Neil , The Guess Who and Econoline Crush , he was also a founding member of the American hard rock band Union . Since 2010 he has been a member of Slash's band .

Career

Fitz is from Winnipeg, Canada, where he attended the John Taylor Collegiate, which he graduated in 1988. He left Canada in the 1990s and lived in Los Angeles for some time, but his current residence is Las Vegas .

Fitz has been making music professionally since he was fifteen. He initially played as a member of various groups in his hometown clubs and later joined Seventh Heaven, who performed and toured numerous Canadian cities. He also played in the group Shake Naked, which also toured Canada. Seventh Heaven also had existing contacts in Los Angeles, which gave Fitz the opportunity to work and perform there as a session musician.

Later, while working with former Shake Naked singer Lenita Erickson, he came into contact with Bruce Kulick , who invited him to record with him. From this work the band Union emerged, which included Kulick and Fitz, singer John Corabi and bassist Jamie Hunting. The first joint album was released in 1998.

Fitz also worked with the band BulletBoys and Gilby Clarke in 2000 .

In spring 2001 he got the offer to go on tour with Vince Neil , in 2005 he became a member of the group Theory of a Deadman , in 2006 he replaced Eric Singer , who had to fulfill his obligations with Kiss , as drummer in the band around Alice Cooper. After Fitz had recorded the album Ignite in 2007 with the Canadian band Econoline Crush, he became a permanent member of the group, but remained touring drummer with Alice Cooper.

In 2009, Fitz was part of the cast of the rock and roll show Monster Circus, which took place in Las Vegas. He played keyboards and sang. Other members of the show were Dee Snider from Twisted Sister , bassist Rudy Sarzo , guitarist Tony Montana from the band Great White , guitarist Dave Kushner from Velvet Revolver , as well as John Corabi and Bruce Kulick. In 2010, Fitz played drums on numerous tracks from Bruce Kulick's album BK3 .

Since March 2010 he has been the drummer in Slash's band and has completed all of the group's tours that have taken place so far, which are now Slash feat. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. The group has released the albums Made in Stoke 24/7/11 , Apocalyptic Love and "World on Fire".

In 2014 he worked with Jake E. Lee on his album Red Dragon Cartel . He plays on three of the songs released on the album ( Shout it Out, Fall from the Sky (Seagull) and Redeem Me ).
